I am still sore from two days of jumping and yelling. I can't believe that the bands do that EVERY NIGHT.

I'm going to be jumping like a crazy person tomorrow night! I'm streching and jumping on my trampoline trying to get my muscles ready. Then I'll have a few days to relax, then back to jumping on Saturday for the Remus/Whompy/Malfoys/Justin show in Vienna. WOOT! So excited!
lol, sorry. Enthusiasm sometimes gets away from me. :)
It's a big rock. Can't wait to tell my friends; they don't have a rock this bigPosted 2 years ago # -
someone should send the unlimited enthusiasm dance to all the other volunteers in other states so they can show their campers how to rock like NYC.

here are the pictures from the bowery ballroom
I was all the way on the far left but close to the stage.Posted 2 years ago # -
I would love to learn the dance. CJY comes to me tomorrow, so if you've got it, please post it! They'll probably teach it to us there, but I like to be prepared!

Its pretty easy we made it up like 10 minutes before the door opened. You just kinda act out the words to the camp theme.
Get all of the volunteers in line!!
"You gotta jump! JUMP!" - Jump on the second JUMP
"You gotta yell! YELL!" - Put your hands up to your mouth like a megaphone and yell on the second YELL!
"You gotta run! RUN!" - Run in place
"You gotta tell! TELL!" - All of the volunteers lean to the left, with your left hand to your mouth, like you're telling a secret, but the volunteer on the END with no one to their left holds up their hand like a phone
"All of your friends" - all of the volunteers high five each other
"this is the ultimate summer camp!" - DANCE LIKE CRAZY AND LOOK SUPER EXCITEDRepeat
"Unlimited Enthusiasm" - slow break down, we liked to do the running man, its similar to the DANCE LIKE CRAZY AND LOOK SUPER EXCITED, but slower
"making its way to your" - to the boy band/Grease point at the audience in a sweeping motion from left to right using your right hand
"heart" - put your hand(s) over your heart.Repeat a bunch, as the beat picks up move faster.
And that's pretty much it. Its pretty basic. If you can teach it to the campers, EVEN BETTER!! We didn't get too many people to do it at the Bowery because it was kinda crowded, but at the Southpaw show, we got to run all the way up to in front of the stage during the opening theme and the campers picked it up rather quickly. It was totally stellar to see everyone grooving along.
Have fun with it, guys!!!

So I finally uploaded all of the pictures from the Philadelphia show! IT WAS AMAZING. We set up a table with face painting and tin foil hat making. We also had a cake that I made and some vegan cookies that we let people go crazy on. The venue is really really small so we didn't really have that much room to do stuff and we couldn't tape things to the wall so we set up a dry erase board and drew Ben Franklin as our photobooth area (our theme was ben franklin). Also, balloons - absolutely perfect. They added so much decoration without really being that messy, and people threw them around and went crazy with them. Anyway, here's the pictures! http://flickr.com/photos/whaleosaurus/sets/72157605908647811/

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!! That was the first show of theirs I'd ever been to and my mind is totally blown!!! They were so amazing! Ill have to upload the pictures when I get home tomorrow. I also took a few videos which are pretty good too. I bought 3 shirts and this amazing tote bag and a poster which paul and Joe signed.
It was really neat volunteering and getting to hang out with Paul and Joe and JUSTINE and Kevin and Zach from math the band and uncle monsterface. Oh yes and "Francis" was there too with the merch. Everyone was absolutely the nicest people ever. It really was the best night ever!!!
I can't wait for the indianapolis show!!

It's the most fantastic thing EVER!! Seriously, that was the best night of my life. I'm crippled from jumping (knees and ankles are death) and I can't talk from the screaming, and my ears are still ringing from the intensity! lol, if you're going to be right in front, be prepared for the ear ringing. If you've got sensitive ears, but want the front, my friend reccommended ear plugs to soften it. She has real sensitive ears, but was right up front without a problem with those in.
Anyway, I'm travelling today, but I'll post the pictures when I get back. I took so many! My memory card kinda ran out on me at some points, so I had to delete some pictures (don't worry, they were blurry) and then my batteries died. Yuck! I did get a picture with Paul and Joe, though, that I'll post tonight.
Abby, it was great to finally meet you!

Also: The rocket ship was a NYC team donation to UMF. Its nice to see it onstage.

the tin foil hats are so cute!
My mum saw all the photos from the bowery ballroom and commented on how crappy of a waldo I would make...
my hair is icky blond orangethanks for the pics from all the shows though!
and thanks for the advice about the earplugs, I have a good tolerance for loud noises but certain people didn't so maybe I'll advise them to pack a pair so they can be in the front dancing with me

Oh no problem! Yes, the tinfoil hats worked SO WELL. Everyone loved them! And yeah.. our venue was super super freaking hot. The fans didn't really do much except for blow stinky sweat air to the front of the crowd from the back. It might have been too that we were rocking out crazy hard! I had sweat dripping from my head and my arms and legs. The sweat didn't bother me though, I was having way too much fun.
